BALTIMORE, MD — A significant development has occurred in the investigation of a recent homicide in the Western District. On Thursday, authorities arrested 22-year-old Korey Hopson of Baltimore in connection to the violent incident that took place last Thursday. Hopson is accused of fatally shooting 17-year-old Denzel Johnson and wounding a 15-year-old boy on North Dukeland Street.
Last Thursday, the incident initially came to light through a ShotSpotter alert around 3:42 p.m.. Responding officers found Johnson deceased from gunshot injuries and another teenager critically injured. Both victims were quickly transported to a local hospital, where Johnson was pronounced dead.
After fleeing the scene, Hopson was apprehended by the police in a wooded area on Stokes Road.

Hopson now faces charges including murder and conspiracy in both the first and second degrees, attempted murder, and assault. Following his arrest, Hopson was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility.
