BALTIMORE, MD — An arrest has been made following a series of attempted auto thefts and an unarmed robbery in the Northwest District.
On Saturday evening, police responded to a call at the 4800 block of East Wabash Avenue, where a 51-year-old man was assaulted by a group of juveniles attempting to steal his vehicle.
The incident escalated when the suspects attacked the victim, striking and kicking him, before taking and destroying his cell phone. Emergency medics treated the victim at the scene for his injuries. A subsequent search led officers to the 3800 block of Beehler Avenue, where the same group was attempting another vehicle theft.
Upon police arrival, the suspects fled on foot, but after a brief chase, officers arrested a 13-year-old male. The juvenile was processed at the Department of Juvenile Services and later released to the custody of his parent.
