PIKESVILLE, MD — A Baltimore County man from Randallstown has claimed a substantial $28,464 prize after placing a winning Racetrax bet at a local 7-Eleven in Pikesville. The lucky winner, who works as a shopping / delivery driver for a major retailer, shared his joy with Maryland Lottery officials when he visited the Lottery Winner’s Circle in Baltimore.
The significant win occurred late last week when the man decided to wager on his favorite Lottery games, including a $1 Superfecta bet on four horses for six races, opting to add the Bonus multiplier to his ticket. His strategic play coincided with the Racetrax Triple Crown promotion, which provided him a $2 discount on his wager, enhancing the overall excitement and value of his bet.
The winning moment came the next day when the man checked his Racetrax ticket at home. The sound of the winning alert and the congratulatory message left him astounded. His selected horses — numbers 4, 10, 2, and 5 — finished in the exact order he predicted, initially netting him $9,488. However, due to the Bonus feature with a 3X multiplier, his total winnings escalated to $28,464.
Upon discovering his win, the married father and grandfather was thrilled to share the news with his wife, noting the timeliness of this financial boon. “This win really came at the right time,” he remarked during his prize claim. A couple of weeks prior, he had also won a sum playing Pick 5 with the same numbers, bolstering his streak of good luck.
With the prize securely claimed, the winner plans to pay some bills and save the remainder of his winnings. Additionally, the 7-Eleven store that sold the winning ticket, located at 1 Greenwood Place in Pikesville, will receive a $284.64 bonus from the Lottery for its role in the lucky purchase.
