Lancaster Man Sentenced to Prison for 2023 Shooting Incident

LANCASTER, PA — Sackiwa Ntuli, a 23-year-old resident of Lancaster, was sentenced last Friday to 5 to 10 years in prison following his guilty plea to multiple charges, including aggravated assault and illegal firearm possession. The sentencing was handed down by Lancaster County Judge Thomas Sponaugle.

Ntuli admitted his involvement in a January 7, 2023 shooting on Dauphin Street, which resulted in a 15-year-old victim sustaining a gunshot wound to the head. Fortunately, the victim survived after being rushed to a local hospital for urgent care.

The arrest occurred after a subsequent police response to a report of suspicious activity on East Orange St. on February 23, 2023. Upon arrival, officers detained several individuals, one of whom was observed carrying a firearm. Ntuli was found hiding on a second-floor roof and taken into custody.

This case marks the second guilty plea among three defendants linked to the January shooting, moving closer to a resolution of this violent incident that shook the local community.
