NEWARK, NJ — Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is calling for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects and locating a vehicle involved in a recent robbery. On Monday morning, police responded to an incident where a victim was robbed at a bus stop on the 80 block of 16th Avenue at approximately 5:54 AM.
The victim reported that two Black males exited a white 2017 Infiniti Q70 on Littleton Avenue and demanded his personal belongings at the bus stop. After obtaining the victim’s bookbag, which contained two cell phones, debit and credit cards, and other items, the suspects fled eastbound on 16th Avenue in the Infiniti, driven by an unidentified third accomplice.

The vehicle, registered to SaJadah May Hodge and bearing a temporary license plate C070959, was later spotted on surveillance footage near the 100 block of 7th Street. Authorities are seeking Hodge for questioning and have designated the vehicle as involved in a felony.
Descriptions of the suspects have been released. Suspect #1 is described as a Black male with a medium build, last seen wearing black clothing, a yellow traffic vest, and a face mask. Suspect #2 is a Black male with a heavy build, dressed in a black hoodie, tan pants, and a face mask. Additionally, the driver was noted outside the vehicle on May 28, 2024, in the 400 block of Central Avenue. The vehicle has been observed around Avon Avenue and Irvine Turner Boulevard.
