TOMS RIVER, NJ—The Toms River Police Department has announced a curfew for juveniles in the barrier island communities, including Ortley Beach and the northern beaches, effective through Labor Day. This measure aims to ensure the safety of the community during the busy summer months.
Juveniles aged 17 and under are required to be off the streets from 10 PM to 5 AM unless accompanied by an adult. The curfew is designed to prevent incidents and maintain order as the area experiences increased activity.
There are exceptions to the curfew: minors are allowed out during these hours for specific purposes, including running errands for a parent or guardian, traveling to and from jobs, attending religious gatherings, educational events, or private functions.
The Toms River Police Department urges residents and visitors to adhere to the curfew rules to help ensure a safe and enjoyable summer for everyone in the community.
