BOSTON, MA– A Providence man was sentenced today in federal court in Worcester for selling oxycodone pills to an undercover officer on multiple occasions.

Brandon Jones, 35, received a six-year prison sentence from U.S. District Court Judge Margaret R. Guzman, followed by three years of supervised release. Jones had pleaded guilty in October 2023 to one count of possession with intent to distribute oxycodone and two counts of oxycodone distribution.

Jones was identified as an oxycodone distributor in the Worcester area in July 2022. He traveled daily from Providence to Worcester in rental vehicles to sell drugs before returning to Providence. Between October 2022 and January 2023, Jones conducted at least four controlled sales of oxycodone pills to undercover law enforcement officers. In February 2023, investigators tracked the rental cars Jones used to his supply sources in New Jersey and New York. Upon his arrest in March 2023, Jones was found in possession of approximately 1,500 oxycodone pills.

The sentencing announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New England Field Division Stephen Belleau, and Southbridge Police Chief Shane D. Woodson. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island State Police provided valuable assistance in the investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kristen M. Noto of the Worcester Branch Office.
