Police Working With Schools To Crack Down on On-Campus Alcohol Incidents

STAFFORD, VA – At Brooke Point High School, two incidents involving underage possession of alcohol and tobacco products were reported on Tuesday morning, highlighting ongoing concerns about youth substance use.

At 9:00 AM, Deputy D.J. Taylor, serving as the School Resource Officer (SRO), was alerted to a backpack found in the women’s bathroom. The backpack contained alcohol and vapes.

The owner was identified, and criminal complaints were filed against her for underage possession of alcohol, possession of alcohol on school grounds, and underage possession of tobacco.

Shortly thereafter, at 9:30 AM, another similar incident was reported. Deputy Taylor discovered a student in possession of alcohol and vapes in the same location. This student also faced criminal complaints for the same offenses.

The incidents underscore the challenges schools face in combating underage drinking and tobacco use among students. Brooke Point High School and local law enforcement are addressing these issues to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all students.
