In an eventful week for the Maryland Lottery, prizes totaling over $31 million were distributed, featuring one of the top scratch-off prizes for the year. A Frederick resident won a substantial $250,000 from a scratch-off ticket purchased at Sheetz on 5601 Buckeystown Pike. This week also saw an unusually high number of $50,000 tickets—17 in total, from various games, claimed across the state.

Throughout Maryland, 44 tickets valued at $10,000 or more were sold or redeemed in the week ending May 19. The lottery reminds winners of prizes larger than $25,000 that they must visit the Maryland Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore to redeem their tickets, which is available by appointment only.

Notable winnings from scratch-offs included multiple $50,000 prizes from tickets bought at locations like Freddie’s Liquors in Forestville and 7-Eleven in Germantown. Other significant scratch-off claims ranged from $10,000 to $250,000 across various stores.

The FAST PLAY format also saw notable wins, including a $50,000 Lightning Cash ticket sold in Damascus and a $22,112 progressive jackpot Gold Fish® ticket in Prince Frederick. Meanwhile, PICK 5 games awarded multiple $50,000 prizes, particularly with several tickets sold at a Giant in Bethesda and a Royal Farms in Severna Park.

For those playing the MEGA MILLIONS, a $10,000 ticket was sold at All Saints Liquors in Laurel. The POWERBALL game also had a $50,000 ticket that was purchased at Piper’s Wine and Spirit Barn in Manchester.

As part of the RACETRAX game, notable winnings included a $48,432 ticket from Kenilworth Sunoco in Hyattsville and a $42,350.50 ticket from T&J Liquor Store in Takoma Park.

Players are encouraged to check their tickets using the Maryland Lottery’s mobile app or by visiting any Lottery retailer. The Maryland Lottery underscores the importance of claiming prizes within 182 days from the draw date for draw games and scratch-offs.
