Gunman Leaps from 4th Floor Balcony in Deadly Philadelphia Shooting

PHILADELPHIA, PA — An 18-year-old man, Elijah Deloach, was fatally shot on Tuesday night in the Roxborough neighborhood. The incident, which took place following an argument, occurred on the 7900 block of Henry Avenue at around 10:14 PM.

Philadelphia police from the 5th District were dispatched to the scene after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found that the shooting ensued when two males and two females approached and confronted a 23-year-old resident. In the altercation that followed, the resident fired a single shot at Deloach, striking him in the chest.

The suspect then leaped from a fourth-floor balcony but remained at the location.

Deloach, a resident of Elkins Park, was rushed to Roxborough Hospital in a private vehicle.

He was pronounced dead shortly after midnight. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident, and charges are pending as they gather more information.
