LAKEWOOD, NJ—Attorney General Matthew Platkin awarded the Lakewood Police Department the “Outstanding Community Partnership” award during the Attorney General’s Excellence in Policing Awards, which coincides with National Police Week.
The award recognizes the department’s exemplary collaboration with the Lakewood Community Coalition, comprising members from the Lakewood Police Department, Ocean County Prosecutors Office, local faith leaders, community organizations, and leaders. This coalition strives to build trust and facilitate communication between law enforcement and the community, enhancing community well-being.
The recognition also highlighted the efforts of several individuals, including Chief Gregory H. Meyer, Captain Steve Allaire, and other department members, alongside community leaders like Cori Scotti of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and Shrage Pinter, a dean at a Jewish religious school.

Captains Allaire and Scotti, co-chairmen of the coalition, expressed gratitude towards Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and acknowledged The Strand Theater and Andrei Jackamets Photography for their support and contributions to the coalition’s success.
