Stamford, CT – The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is investigating a fatal motor vehicle versus motorcycle crash that took place on Lockwood Ave. at the intersection with William St. on a recent evening. The incident involved a 2020 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by a 17-year-old Stamford resident and a 2011 Toyota Corolla driven by a 58-year-old Stamford resident.
At the intersection, the Toyota attempted a left turn and crossed paths with the motorcycle, leading to a collision despite the motorcycle’s attempt to stop. The motorcycle rider was rushed to Stamford Hospital following the crash, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Due to the rider’s age, authorities have refrained from disclosing his identity.
Following the tragedy, the driver of the Toyota stayed at the scene and assisted with the investigation. The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad has kept the investigation open and encourages anyone with additional information to reach out at (203) 977-4712.
The ongoing crash probe is led by Sgt. Ryan McAllister and Ofc. Lindsey Yanicky.
