Pittsburgh, PA – Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus confirmed the capture of an East Pittsburgh man who had been evading authorities for approximately nine months. Donte Robinson-Vearnon, 25, had outstanding bench warrants for failure to appear in court and a probation violation related to theft and firearms cases originating in August 2023.
Surveillance conducted by detectives revealed Robinson-Vearnon’s whereabouts in North Versailles this week. Law enforcement officers closed in on an apartment on Ice Plant Hill Road where the fugitive attempted to escape by pushing out a window screen before finally surrendering and being taken into custody.
An ensuing search of the premises led to the discovery of a stolen firearm hidden in a child’s room. Subsequent to the arrest, Robinson-Vearnon was escorted to the Allegheny County Jail.
Besides being held accountable for the existing bench warrants, he will be charged with new offenses involving receiving stolen property and additional firearms violations.
