Manassas, VA – Two firearms were confiscated from a 19-year-old after an alert citizen saw him struggling with a firearm while intoxicated. On Thursday, authorities responded to a report of an intoxicated man at a local Wawa store, where the suspect had dropped a firearm on the premises.
Deputies quickly located the suspect, who was subsequently detained without resistance. The individual was found to be carrying a handgun illegally, and further investigations revealed that he had driven to the scene in a stolen vehicle containing controlled substances, ammunition, and a rifle. Additionally, the suspect was in violation of a protective order barring him from firearm possession.
The arrested individual, identified as Xavien Washington, faces multiple charges including driving under the influence for the second time in five years, unauthorized vehicle use, possession of controlled substances, and more.
Washington is currently being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
