ELMONT, NY — Christopher Semoy, 22, a suspected member of the Bloods gang, was arraigned Wednesday on charges stemming from the 2021 murder of 20-year-old Khasiem Woton in Elmont.
Semoy, who is currently held at Marcy Correctional Center, faces charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree. During the proceedings before Judge Robert Bogle, Semoy pleaded not guilty and was remanded without bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 14.
According to DA Donnelly, the incident occurred on September 24, 2021, when Semoy and his associates allegedly confronted Woton and others in the St. Vincent DePaul parking lot.
After a dispute, Semoy reportedly shot Woton in the stomach and then fired another shot into Woton’s face as he attempted to flee in his vehicle. The victim was later pronounced dead at Franklin Hospital.
DA Donnelly emphasized the prosecution’s commitment to pursuing justice for the victim, stating that the homicide team is determined to hold those responsible for violent crimes accountable. Semoy’s arrest was made on Tuesday by the Nassau County Police Department. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
