Harford County, MD – The Harford County Sheriff’s Office has resolved two incidents involving juvenile suspects in motor vehicle thefts, leading to successful apprehensions and recoveries of stolen property.
On Monday afternoon, deputies responded to a stolen white Kia Optima in Edgewood, with the pursuit culminating in the apprehension of two suspects, including a 13-year-old, who was charged and released to their parents.
Less than a day later, authorities received an alert on a stolen vehicle, sparking a chase that ended with a crash in Edgewood. Three suspects from Baltimore were swiftly arrested, with two placed in Juvenile Services custody and the third released to their parents.
During the arrests, a Polymer 80 Glock handgun, a black Glock-style BB Gun, controlled dangerous substances, and stolen property from other robberies were recovered.
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office said after the arrests that it is commited to public safety, particularly in combatting juvenile vehicle theft.
Sheriff Gahler expressed concerns over the risks these crimes pose to communities and vowed to maintain proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of Harford County residents.
