NEW YORK, NY—The New York City Police Department is requesting public assistance to identify a suspect involved in a series of grand larceny incidents across multiple precincts on Wednesday. The incidents involved the theft of necklaces from young women at various locations.
In the first incident, reported at 3:00 PM within the 7 Precinct at the Delancey Street F line station, the suspect attempted to remove an 18-year-old female’s necklace but fled when unsuccessful. Shortly thereafter, at 3:20 PM in front of 45 West 18 Street in the 13 Precinct, the same individual successfully snatched a necklace from a 21-year-old female.
He was last seen heading south on 6th Avenue. The final reported incident occurred at 6:00 PM in the 112 Precinct at the 67th Avenue M line station, where a 25-year-old female was also targeted and her necklace taken.
The suspect is described as a light-complexioned male, last seen wearing a white hoodie, white sneakers, and dark pants. Media depicting the suspect is available at the Department of Crime Prevention and Investigation (DCPI). No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
