LANCASTER, PA – Timothy Barker, a 48-year-old from Leola, was convicted on multiple charges related to child sexual abuse after a two-day trial before Lancaster County Judge Dennis Reinaker. The verdict was delivered by a jury after approximately 30 minutes of deliberation.

The girl was just 12 years old.

Barker, residing on the first block of E. Main Street, faced charges including rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors, and endangering the welfare of children.

The incidents occurred at a home in West Lampeter Township in 2018.

Assistant District Attorney Fritz Haverstick led the prosecution, presenting testimony from the victim, who detailed abuse starting at the age of 9 and escalating until she was 13.

Haverstick praised the victim’s courage in facing her abuser in court, stating, “All sex abusers are cowards and bullies… She isn’t scared of him anymore and he can’t bully her anymore.”
