Boston, MA- Officers from the Anti-Crime Unit of District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Christopher Joseph, 31, of Nashua, New Hampshire, following an incident involving firearm and drug charges early on Sunday morning.
Authorities noticed a vehicle with an expired registration while on patrol near Morton Street and West Selden Street. The officers initiated a traffic stop using emergency lights and sirens in the area of 38 Gallivan Boulevard.
After making contact with the vehicle’s occupants, the officers found that all passengers complied with requests except for the rear right passenger. The individual appeared in distress, refusing medical attention when asked. Due to the registration issue, all occupants were asked to step out for towing, leading to the discovery of drugs and a suspected firearm on the individual in question.
Upon conducting a search and finding a loaded firearm, the suspect was taken into custody. Identified as a Springfield Armory Hellcat 9MM with twelve rounds, the weapon was retrieved from the suspect’s possession.
Joseph now faces charges of unlawful firearm and ammunition possession, as well as possession of class B, following the arrest. His arraignment is expected to take place at Dorchester District Court.
