JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ—Jackson Township officials say no organizations have formally applied for a permit to host a rally on public property in the township, but an advertisement shared on social media says one is planned for May 18.
The rally and march are allegedly planned near the town hall.
Jackson Mayor Michael Reina confirmed today that no groups have requested permits and that the rally would be in violation of township laws.
“We have several agencies looking into the origin of this online message. I can assure everyone that we did not authorize any parade or gathering, nor was a permit issued. At this time, we are not aware who the creator(s) are, but that will not stop us from being vigilant,” the mayor said.
