Manchester, NJ – A single motor vehicle crash involving a tree occurred on Saturday afternoon, where a 49-year-old woman was injured.
The 2008 silver Jeep Liberty, driven by Laura Garciapoblano, caught fire and crashed after crossing into the northbound shoulder of S Hope Chapel Road. The driver was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Hospital for treatment, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The crash prompted the roadway’s closure as emergency responders worked at the scene.
Assisting units included Emergency Medical Technicians, volunteer fire departments, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital paramedics, and a medevac helicopter. Initial findings suggest that driver error played a significant role in the accident.
