New Jersey Uber Driver Slashed by 71-Year-Old Female Passenger

NEW MILFORD, NJ — A 71-year-old Bergenfield resident, Linda Buckner, was arrested after allegedly slashing an Uber driver with a box cutter. The incident occurred as the driver, a 53-year-old man from Newark, was transporting Buckner from Hackensack to her home.

New Milford Police Captain Kevin Van Saders reported that the altercation took place near the borders of New Milford and Teaneck around midnight on Saturday. The driver sustained two cuts on his face but refused further medical treatment after initial care provided by the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Following the incident, officers from New Milford and Teaneck responded to the scene, leading to Buckner’s arrest on charges of aggravated assault and illegal weapons possession. She is currently being held in Bergen County Jail.
