ANNAPOLIS, MD—A white Toyota Camry reported stolen was recovered late Sunday night by Annapolis police after a brief chase. The incident began around 11:07 PM in the area of Obery Court when officers attempted to stop the vehicle, which was being driven without headlights. The driver abandoned the car and escaped on foot.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, officers discovered a black and silver handgun on the front seat. Shortly thereafter, a male claimed the vehicle belonged to his mother and had been reported stolen. The car was subsequently returned to its rightful owner. Despite efforts to locate the suspect, including a canvass of the area, no arrests have been made. The handgun found in the vehicle has been submitted to the Annapolis Police Department’s evidence.
