NEW YORK – Boston police officers from the Drug Control Unit, District D-14 (Allston/Brighton), detained Ahmadou Sow, 31, of Bronx, New York, Amady Dioum, 24, of New York City, Ibra Sow, 29 of New York City, and Dioum Cheikhouna, 21, of New York City on Wednesday afternoon for their involvement in an Apple product theft operation.
The police officers spotted the suspects engaging in illegal transactions involving small white square boxes in the vicinity of 21 Farrington Street. Witnesses reported the exchange of money for the white boxes, leading to the observation and subsequent detainment of the suspects in the area.
As law enforcement intervened, suspects scattered and attempted to evade arrest in various locations in Brighton Avenue and Harvard Avenue. Despite their efforts, the police managed to apprehend all four suspects, who were in possession of numerous stolen Apple products totaling around $12,000, along with approximately $704 in cash. Three of the suspects—Amady Dioum, Ibra Sow, and Dioum Cheikhouna—are facing additional charges of resisting arrest.
Further investigations revealed that the stolen products, 83 Apple AirPods Pro, 7 Apple AirPods Max, and 3 Apple Watches Ultra Two, were acquired in New York City and transported to Boston for resale. All suspects involved have been processed and are slated for arraignment at Brighton District Court.
