Cumberland Police Department announced a series of arrests made in Cumberland, on Wednesday. Elias James Harr, 44, was taken into custody for failing to comply with an order of the court.
Michael Allen Wallace, 43, was arrested for missing a court appearance related to previous charges.
Additionally, an incident of assault involving an alleged possession of controlled substances resulted in the arrest of Brian Wade Simmons Jr, 34. Harr, Wallace, and Simmons were all taken to the Allegany County Detention Center and appeared before a District Court Commissioner.
Harr was arrested on April 24,, stemming from an active Bench Warrant issued on April 22nd for failing to adhere to a court’s order regarding past assault and theft charges.
Wallace’s arrest on the same day was due to an active Bench Warrant issued on April 16th for not showing up in district court for charges of trespassing, failure to obey, and disorderly conduct. In another incident on April 24th, Simmons was arrested for allegedly assaulting an individual, leading to visible injuries. Upon arrest, Simmons was also found in possession of suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Following the arrests, Harr, Wallace, and Simmons underwent an Initial Appearance procedure before being detained at the Allegany County Detention Center. Harr was denied bond. Wallace is currently awaiting his appearance with a District Court Commissioner, while Simmons was held on a $1000 bond. The Cumberland City Police responded promptly to all incidents, ensuring that those allegedly involved in criminal activities faced legal consequences as per the warrants and charges issued against them.
