Undercover operation catches 13 stores selling alcohol to minors

On Wednesday, Volusia County deputies performed an undercover operation aimed at curtailing alcohol sales to customers under 21. The operation came after a prior initiative targeting the sale of nicotine vape products to minors. Out of 26 stores inspected on the west side of Volusia County, 13 outlets sold alcohol to an individual under 21 years old. Identified businesses were located across various areas within the county—DeLeon Springs, DeLand, Orange City, Deltona, and Osteen.

A stern reminder was issued to all enterprises to adhere strictly to the law, verify IDs, and refrain from engaging in these illicit activities, which constitute second-degree misdemeanors.

Violations were unearthed at various establishments, including DeLeon Springs Food Mart, Citgo, Shell, Chevron, Orange City Liquors, Sunoco, Dizzy D’s Bar and Liquor Store, Deltona Express Mart, Chevron Food Mart, Familia Mini Mart, Deltona Marathon, and Sunoco Gas Station in Osteen. The named outlets face sanctions for allowing underage sales of alcohol.
