Texas jurors have convicted a man of murdering his then-girlfriend at the Henderson Garden Apartments in Killeen. 39-year-old Raymond Antonio Rivera was found guilty of the domestic violence murder that resulted in the death of 50-year-old Nilsa Maria Arce. The fatal incident occurred on June 25, 2020, when Rivera threw the victim off the balcony before dropping a heavy orange recliner, leading to critical injuries that proved to be fatal.

The brutal attack faced by Arce unfolded in plain view of onlookers on a Thursday afternoon. Witness testimony indicated that the victim yelled out before being thrown from the balcony. The witnesses reported that the orange recliner thrown by Rivera was the fatal blow that caused Arce’s death. Despite efforts to provide first aid by witnesses, the injuries sustained were severe, leading to her tragic passing.

As the case unfolded, concerns arose about Rivera’s competency to stand trial, but those were later dismissed. Evidence presented during the trial detailed the violence of the attack, highlighting the tragic end Arce faced.
