Church Vandalism, Armed Robbery Highlight County Police Operations

The Anne Arundel County Police Department announced two ongoing investigations into recent crimes in the area. The first case involves the destruction of property at the Saint Albans Episcopal Church in Glen Burnie.

A male and female teenager vandalized the church’s property on April 21, 2024, by breaking a piece of concrete from a flower bed and using it to damage a memorial plaque. Due to the religious nature of the property, the incident has been classified as a hate crime.

In another case, detectives from the Regional Crimes Unit are looking into an armed robbery that occurred at the Royal Farms store on Annapolis Road in Severn on April 23. The robbery took place around 1:00 a.m. when a male suspect brandished a pistol handle hidden in his clothes and demanded money from the store’s employee. After receiving the cash, the suspect fled on foot towards Blue Water Boulevard.

The suspect in the armed robbery is described as a black male, approximately 5’5″ tall, with a thin build, last seen wearing dark clothing and a mask during the robbery. Authorities are actively seeking information from the public to assist in both investigations.
