MANCHESTER, NJ – Last week, officers from the Manchester Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section, along with SRO Jason Tarabokija and guest speakers Noelle Santos, Michael McCormick, and Daniel Duddy Sr., joined forces to deliver a presentation to junior and senior classes at Manchester Township High School. The discussions centered on safe driving practices, the significance of using safety belts, and the risks associated with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Noelle Santos from the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey, Michael McCormick representing New Jersey Manufactures, and Daniel Duddy Sr., who tragically lost his son Francis Duddy due to impaired driving in Toms River in 2014, engaged with the students individually during separate assemblies. Manchester Police officers also addressed the students, emphasizing the potential dangers of riding in a vehicle with a driver who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Manchester Township, NJ School District graciously hosted the officers and guest speakers for this crucial safety-focused presentation, providing a valuable platform for educating young drivers about responsible and safe driving practices. The collaborative effort between law enforcement, community organizations, and individuals impacted by impaired driving aimed to raise awareness and promote a culture of safer roads for all.
