Man Charged or Felony Gun Possession Durnig Traffic Stop in Dover

Delaware State Police arrested 23-year-old Elijah Lambert of Dover, Delaware, for a felony gun charge on Friday night near Frederica. On Tuesday night, a trooper patrolling near Frederica witnessed a Chevrolet Impala exceeding the speed limit.

Lambert, the driver, confessed to having a loaded gun beneath the driver’s seat during the interaction with the trooper. Subsequently, Lambert was apprehended and a Taurus 9mm handgun was discovered concealed under the seat during a search by authorities. An inquiry revealed that Lambert did not possess a concealed carry permit.

Following the arrest, Lambert was transported to Troop 3 and charged with carrying a concealed firearm (a felony) and speeding in excess of 55 miles per hour. The suspect was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and was later released on his own recognizance.
