A Florida man, Alexander Roque, is in custody after being accused of murdering his girlfriend and then transporting her body to a police station where he turned himself in.

Records indicate that the 48-year-old Roque is held in the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation facility with no bond on a second-degree murder charge following a disturbing sequence of events that unfolded late on a Saturday night.

The Florida City Police Department encountered a white Hyundai Tucson parked outside their station at around 11:18 p.m., with Roque surrendering to officers and disclosing the presence of a body and the murder weapon in the vehicle. Paramedics discovered the victim, identified as 44-year-old Yesenia Rodriguez, deceased in the passenger seat, with the .38 revolver located under the driver’s seat. Rodriguez’s estranged husband informed law enforcement that Roque had reached out to confess the crime, sending him a picture of the deceased and later revealing the body during a WhatsApp video call as he drove around Florida City.

Roque, who allegedly refused to cooperate with detectives post-arrest, is believed to have committed the murder due to issues in their relationship. The Miami-Dade Police Department is leading the investigation into the case. Neighbors revealed that Roque, residing in Florida City for approximately two years, had become reclusive after a personal loss and displayed heightened security measures at his residence.
