A blaze engulfed a cabin along the Susquehanna River in Harford County, leading to one firefighter sustaining injuries while battling the flames. The Darlington Volunteer Fire Company responded overnight to Jennings Lane following reports of the cabin being fully engulfed in fire.
The incident was reported before 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 20. The recreational cabin was one of approximately 350 such cabins situated on land leased from Constellation Energy.
The owner was not present during the fire and property access was limited.
It took fifty firefighters nearly two hours to extinguish the flames, resulting in an estimated $75,000 worth of damage and a neighboring cabin being affected. The injured firefighter was treated at the Bayview Medical Center and is in stable condition. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
