EDGEWOOD, MD — The Harford County Sheriff’s Office has announced an indictment related to a murder that took place on June 9, 2021, in Edgewood, Maryland. The incident occurred late at night, at around 11:47 p.m., in the 6200 block of Edgewood Road.

Upon their arrival at the scene, deputies from the Southern Precinct found 20-year-old Jarmil Christopher Stewart, also from Edgewood, with a gunshot wound to the lower body. Despite rapid life-saving attempts by the deputies and further medical efforts at the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Stewart was pronounced dead.

Following an extensive investigation by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, detectives identified and developed probable cause to charge Journay George Tucker, 46, also of Edgewood, with the murder of Stewart. Tucker now faces serious charges as the legal process continues.
