BALTIMORE, MD — Early in the morning on April 18, 2024, Baltimore’s Group Violence Unit (GVU), supported by a coalition of law enforcement agencies, successfully concluded a months-long investigation into a drug trafficking organization. The operation, which began around 4 a.m., involved the coordinated execution of eight high-risk search and seizure warrants across multiple districts.
Participating teams included the Baltimore Police Department’s Eastern and Southwest District Action Teams, SWAT units, as well as members from Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County, the FBI SWAT, the Drug Enforcement Administration Special Response Team (DEA/SRT), and the York Regional Task Force. This multi-agency effort led to the recovery of a substantial cache of drugs, firearms, and other illegal contraband.
The operation culminated in the arrest of seven individuals connected to the trafficking network. These arrests mark a significant victory for the GVU and its partners in their ongoing fight against organized crime and violence in the region.
