TRENTON, NJ — Governor Phil Murphy is leading a delegation in California with the goal of promoting New Jersey’s advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and film production.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to position New Jersey as a leading hub for these industries on the East Coast.
The governor highlighted New Jersey’s recent improvements in business climate, which were recognized in a CNBC study ranking the state as most-improved. He credited these advancements to the efforts of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce (NJCC) and his administration’s economic policies.
Murphy emphasized the importance of continued progress, stating, “Now is not the time to stop and smell the roses because we still have more work to do.” He underscored the need to push New Jersey’s economic recovery to the next level, despite potential differences in approach.
Under Murphy’s administration, New Jersey has seen the start of 60,000 small businesses and notable job creation, bolstering his economic success story. He also pointed to the state’s strengths including its public schools, public safety rankings, strategic location, skilled workforce, and transportation infrastructure.
At the ReNew Jersey Business Summit and Expo, organized annually by the NJ Chamber of Commerce, Murphy unveiled plans for a new film production studio in Atlantic City and detailed an upcoming April road trip aimed at attracting California’s leaders in AI and film production to invest in New Jersey.
Murphy expressed optimism about New Jersey’s role in film and television, as well as in the burgeoning field of generative AI, noting, “We are creating new opportunities all across New Jersey for workers and entrepreneurs alike.”
