Fatal Pedestrian Crash Kills Teen in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – D.C. Metro Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit is probing a tragic incident in which a pedestrian died after being struck by a speeding car. The crash occurred on Thursday, April 11, just after 3:30 PM, on 6th Street in Northwest, D.C.

An Audi sedan, driving north from Howard Place at high speed, hit a parked vehicle and continued without turning left onto Fairmont Street. It then mounted the curb and hit 18-year-old Mohamed Samura near a crosswalk. Samura, from Fredericksburg, VA, sustained severe injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
