BALTIMORE, MD – In response to the catastrophic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Team (SOT) has been mobilized as part of the comprehensive recovery and safety efforts. This deployment, made in collaboration with various law enforcement bodies, underscores the collective mission to support the ongoing investigation and ensure the well-being of all involved parties.
The Key Bridge Response Unified Command, a coalition formed in the aftermath of the bridge disaster, is currently overseeing a Safety Zone within the Patapsco River. This measure is crucial for the salvage operations and recovery initiatives underway, aimed at protecting the safety of personnel, marine vessels, and the surrounding environment from the risks associated with the salvage activities.
“We remain fully committed to supporting this investigation at every step of the way,” states a representative from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.
