FREEHOLD, NJ – Jessica Sawicki, a 37-year-old English teacher at Hamilton High School West in Mercer County, has been arrested on charges of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, as announced by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago. Sawicki faces five counts of second-degree sexual assault and five counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, stemming from her alleged involvement in a sexual relationship with a student.

The investigation, conducted by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) Special Victims Bureau, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, and the New Jersey State Police, indicates that the alleged misconduct began earlier this year. Sawicki is accused of engaging in sexual acts with the student at the Assunpink Wildlife Management Area in Upper Freehold Township.

Following her arrest earlier this week, Sawicki has been held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a court appearance. The authorities have encouraged anyone with information related to Sawicki’s activities to come forward. The case is prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Keri-Leigh Schaefer, with Edward Cridge, Esq., representing Sawicki.
