WASHINGTON, DC – Police responded to a report of gunfire in Southeast Washington, resulting in a vehicle damaged by bullets. The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 3, at approximately 8:45 p.m. on the 1500 block of Independence Avenue, Southeast.
Upon their arrival, First District officers discovered the vehicle but reported no injuries. The investigation led detectives to identify 41-year-old Kevin Snead of Southeast, DC, and Jumping Branch, WV, as the suspect. He allegedly fired a handgun at the victims before fleeing the scene.
Snead is wanted on charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) under a DC Superior Court arrest warrant. Authorities are seeking his black Ford Mustang, bearing West Virginia Tag N3X894, linked to the incident.
The Metropolitan Police Department urges anyone with knowledge of Kevin Snead’s whereabouts or further information on the case to contact them at 202-727-9099. Tips can also be anonymously sent via text to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $10,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals responsible for violent crimes in the District.
