Dover Man Arrested for Drug Charges and Resisting Arrest After Traffic Violation

DOVER, DE – Early Saturday morning, Delaware State Police apprehended 34-year-old George Brinkley of Dover, Delaware, following a traffic stop that led to charges of multiple drug offenses and resisting arrest.

At around 1:51 a.m. on April 6, a Delaware State Trooper observed a white 2022 Chrysler Pacifica with Oklahoma registration speeding and failing to maintain its lane on President Drive near Bay Road in Dover. The vehicle eventually stopped in a residential driveway on President Drive, whereupon the driver and a passenger exited and proceeded towards the residence. Ignoring the trooper’s commands to halt, Brinkley, the driver, attempted to shut the door on the officer and subsequently fled on foot. He was captured following a brief chase.

Upon searching Brinkley, officers found $2,570 in cash. A subsequent search of the Pacifica yielded approximately 0.714 grams of heroin packaged in 102 baggies, around 17.9 grams of marijuana, two MDMA pills, and one pill of cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride.
