Popcorn Park Seeking to Expand Animal Welfare Team, Announces Job Openings

FORKED RIVER, NJ — The Associated Humane Societies, a cornerstone in animal welfare for over a century, is actively recruiting for two pivotal roles at its Forked River facility, which also encompasses the renowned Popcorn Park sanctuary. With a mission to provide refuge to animals in distress, AHS is calling for compassionate, dedicated individuals to join their team.

Animal Care Staff Position: Kennel Staff The Kennel Staff’s primary responsibility will be the daily care and maintenance of animals within the facility. This includes cleaning kennels, feeding, watering, and providing affection to the animals in their care. Candidates with previous experience in animal care are preferred, but comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided for those new to the field. The position offers competitive salary options, based on experience, and includes a range of benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401k plan. The role requires weekend availability, reliable transportation, and a clean background check. Development Assistant Position Seeking an energetic and organized Development Assistant to support the AHS Development team. This role involves a variety of administrative and operational tasks, including processing donations, maintaining databases, and assisting with fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong affinity for animal welfare. This position offers an hourly rate of $20-$22, alongside benefits similar to the Kennel Staff position. Previous experience in a similar role, especially within a nonprofit or animal welfare setting, is highly beneficial. The selected candidate will start immediately and should be prepared for occasional evening and weekend work, particularly to support events.
