New Jersey Voters Show Preference in 2024 Presidential Race According to Latest Poll

TRENTON, NJ — The latest Emerson College Polling/PIX11/The Hill survey reveals a lead for Joe Biden over Donald Trump in New Jersey’s 2024 presidential election, with Biden at 46% and Trump at 39%. Fifteen percent of voters remain undecided.

The poll indicates a divergence in the motivations of Trump and Biden supporters. Thirty-five percent of Trump’s backers cite issue-based support as their primary reason, while 30% favor him personally. For Biden, 31% of his supporters are driven by their opposition to Trump, and 25% by personal affinity for Biden.

Introduction of third-party candidates to the ballot shifts voter support, reducing Biden’s to 41% and Trump’s to 36%. Robert Kennedy Jr. garners 8% support, Cornel West and Jill Stein each receive 1%, and 14% of voters are undecided.

The survey also touches on New Jersey’s unique ballot design, known as “the line,” which advantages candidates endorsed by local political party leaders by positioning them prominently. Sixty-two percent of voters find this arrangement fair, whereas 38% view it as unfair.
