BROOKLYN, NY – Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced the indictment of five individuals from Far Rockaway, Queens, charged with the murder and robbery of a laundromat owner in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. The victim, Money Perkins, 37, was fatally shot inside his laundromat, Money P. Clean, on December 1, 2023, in what has been described as a shocking execution allegedly orchestrated by his cousin due to an ongoing dispute.
The individuals implicated in this heinous crime are Ronnie Butler, 46; Luis Mercado, 48; Zecharyah Slay, 16; Shaleek Riddick, 19; and Diante Stinson, 20. The indictment includes charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, robbery, and other crimes. Surveillance footage from the incident shows the victim being ambushed by four gunmen, struggling before being shot multiple times and robbed of a chain valued at over $30,000.
Butler was arraigned before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Danny Chun, with Riddick and Stinson arraigned on March 27, 2024. All defendants have been ordered held without bail, with return court dates set for May 2024. The investigation by the NYPD and the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office has uncovered the extent of the conspiracy, aiming to bring justice to the victim’s family and hold the defendants accountable.
