Juveniles Arrested in Wall Township Following Stolen Vehicle Pursuit
WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – A collaborative effort between Wall Township Police and Stafford Township Police Department led to the apprehension of suspects involved in a stolen vehicle chase on Friday, March 29.
Officers responded to Herbertsville Rd and the Garden State Parkway at 10:30 PM to assist Stafford Township PD with a pursuit. The chase ended in Wall Township, where the vehicle’s occupants fled. A sixteen-year-old from Newark was found hiding in a local backyard and was taken into custody.
The pursuit originated around 9:57 PM when Stafford Township Police were notified of a stolen black 2019 Mercedes GLC, also linked to a hit-and-run in Newark. The vehicle was spotted on Route 72, initiating a high-speed chase that ended on the Garden State Parkway after successful deployment of spike strips.
Five individuals attempted to escape on foot but were soon caught. Charges against the suspects include eluding and receiving a stolen vehicle. Four juveniles were involved; two were sent to a Juvenile Detention Center, and two were released to guardians. Kyera Green, 18, was lodged in Ocean County Jail. She has since been released.
