ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Powerball drawing on April Fools’ Day proved to be a lucky day for Maryland, especially for two ticket holders who bought their winning tickets at a 7-Eleven in Annapolis, each securing $1 million. In addition, four other Maryland players won $50,000 each in the same draw.
Despite the significant wins, the Powerball jackpot continues to grow, with an estimated annuity of $1.09 billion for the drawing on Wednesday, April 3. This jackpot, if won, would rank as the fourth-largest in Powerball history and ninth in U.S. history.
The lucky numbers for the draw were 19, 24, 40, 42, and 56, with the Powerball at 23. Winners emerged from various locations, including Elkton, Frederick, Hyattsville, and Oxon Hill.
Maryland celebrated a total of 43,131 winning tickets from this drawing, contributing to the over $9.9 million won by Maryland Powerball players during the current jackpot roll. The Annapolis 7-Eleven store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the two $1 million-winning tickets, highlighting the benefits to retailers participating in the Lottery.
