STAFFORD TWP, NJ – In a dramatic late-night operation on Friday, the Stafford Township Police Department apprehended all occupants of a stolen 2019 Mercedes GLC following a high-speed chase. The incident began around 9:57 PM when authorities were notified of the stolen vehicle’s presence on Route 72, approaching the Garden State Parkway.

The stolen Mercedes, involved in a hit-and-run in Newark earlier, failed to stop for police and led officers on a pursuit. Spike strips effectively disabled the vehicle on the Garden State Parkway North, leading to the capture of five suspects as they attempted to flee.

The suspects are charged with eluding and receiving a stolen vehicle. Four juveniles were involved, two of whom were detained and two released to guardians. Kyera Green, 18, from Newark, is held at Ocean County Jail. Ptl. Russell Okinsky was the primary officer involved in the arrests.
