Two Teens Arrested for Unarmed Carjacking in Northeast DC

WASHINGTON, DC – The Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District has reported the arrest of two teenage suspects following an unarmed carjacking incident in Northeast Washington, DC. The event occurred on Thursday, March 28, at around 8:50 p.m. at the intersection of 12th Street and Jackson Street NE.

According to the victim’s account, she was in her vehicle when the two suspects, a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old male from Northeast, DC, demanded her car keys and forcibly removed her from the vehicle. The assailants then fled the scene in her car.

Officers quickly responded to the situation, locating the stolen vehicle shortly after in the 500 block of S Street NW. Following a traffic stop, both suspects were apprehended and charged with Unarmed Carjacking. The prompt action by the police highlights their commitment to addressing and mitigating crime in the community.
