GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Gloucester Township Police have issued a traffic advisory following significant rainfall leading to flooding. As of 4:30 PM Saturday, several roads have been closed to mitigate safety risks.
The closures include Somerdale Road between Chews Landing Road and Lamppost Lane, Good Intent Road between Clementon Avenue, Barnsboro Road, and Treeline Drive in Deptford/Blackwood Terrace, and Hider Lane between Little Gloucester Road and Kelly Drivers Road. These measures have been taken in response to the ongoing precipitation which has already caused considerable flooding within the area.
Motorists who need to travel are urged to exercise caution. Guidelines include activating headlights, using windshield wipers, maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles, driving at reduced speeds to prevent hydroplaning, avoiding standing water on the roadways, and refraining from distracted driving to ensure safety.
