BALTIMORE — A successful operation by the Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATT) led to the arrest of a suspect involved in auto theft. On the morning of March 18, RATT detectives were on patrol in the vicinity of Sinclair Lane and Edison Highway when they spotted a 2007 blue Honda Accord. The vehicle had been reported stolen from the Central District on March 14.

As detectives attempted to stop the vehicle on East Federal Street, the driver, identified as 37-year-old Keith Thomas, attempted to flee. His escape was short-lived as he crashed into a parked vehicle and became immobilized on the 140 block of North Lakewood Street. Thomas exited the vehicle and was apprehended without incident. He declined medical attention and was subsequently taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility for processing.
