Howell Township Police Respond to Multiple Burglaries

Early Sunday morning, Howell Township Police Officers were dispatched to Barrister Ct. and Vail Ln. following reports of burglaries in progress. In both instances, entry was gained through unlocked access points, including a garage window and a rear sliding door. The perpetrators, believed to be at least three individuals dressed in black, targeted residences to pilfer car keys and other valuables.

Among the stolen items were a grey 2024 Range Rover and a 2022 white Cadillac Escalade. Despite efforts by the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department, employing a K-9 unit to track the suspects, the perpetrators remain at large. Notably, the stolen Range Rover was later recovered in Jersey City, thanks to the swift action of local law enforcement.

Sergeant Eric Encarnacion emphasized the modus operandi of these criminals, highlighting their focus on acquiring key fobs for high-end vehicles. In response, he urged residents to bolster home security measures by ensuring all doors, sliding doors, and windows are securely locked. Moreover, he underscored the importance of immediate reporting of any suspicious activity to 911.
